Claire joined Kimbells from McGrigors (formerly known as KLegal) where she gained wide ranging experience in their real estate department. Whilst with McGrigors Claire was seconded to KPMG Private Client Advisory. Claire joined the Hospitality Sector team at Kimbells in October 2005. Her general experience includes:

• Land and property acquisitions
• Acting for landlords, tenants and property developers
• Stamp Duty Land Tax advice
• Tax planning on the acquisition/disposal of properties in many jurisdictions

Claire has since been working on:

• Acquisition and disposal of high value portfolios of licensed properties for several large pub companies, including dealing with due diligence, enquiries, investigating title, defective title issues, obtaining Landlords’ consent for leasehold properties and registration of these properties
• Disposal of trading/closed pubs and surplus land
• General estate management work, both from the perspective of the landlord of a tenanted public house estate and from the perspective of the commercial tenant. This includes the surrender and variation of leases, licences to assign/underlet, licences for alterations, unlicensed property lettings, release of restrictive covenants, cleaning up titles involving purchasing/obtaining a lease of adjoining land and advice on general estate management issues.
