Bar/Late Night Venue
Our clients operating bars and late night venues are grappling with a range of issues arising from legislative change:
Clubs and bars are open longer and later, so new powers have been given to local authorities to deal with excessive noise and nuisance from licensed premises. Not only that, operators will have a statutory duty to protect staff from the potentially damaging effects of loud music and may have to reorganise shift patterns to comply. Security and violence are other areas of concern, with the proposals for ADZs having been clarified.
Commercial property issues regularly arise as bars and night clubs acquire or dispose of individual trading units or portfolios of properties and Kimbells'''''''''''''''' team has substantial experience in advising on such issues.
Employment law has hit hard over recent years, with many regulations such as Age Discrimination, increased maternity leave and the issues of employing immigrant workers without the necessary permission and documentation. We are able to assist with policies, handbooks and training to prevent discrimination arising - particularly in light of new equality laws. We also have experience in obtaining work permits and visas for foreign workers.
